So, if you've made it this far then it's likely that you're either curious about what's happening in my world, or you want to indulge your own personal form of intellectual voyeurism by reading my blog. Though as I consider it, I guess you could just be watching this train wreck that I call me and looking for the next installment of my after school special of a life. To you I say; 'Enjoy the Show'.
Many of you know that I've recently returned to Austin from the Kerrville Folk Festival. To those with whom I shared this moment I send you a big "Thank You!" You make it the home that we come back to each year. Oh, and you rock! Really, this years festival to me, was a meaty, trans-formative experience that I will always cherish. For those of you out there who have yet to attend I say please come home soon. Noone will ever be able to describe the KFF experience in a way that will do it justice, so stop with the debate and start planning now to come out to the Wine & Music festival over Labor Day weekend this September. It'll change your life if you let it. The readers of this blog might also already know full well that Freed & I have been working very hard as Better Day Maybe & playing LOTS of shows. We are grateful beyond words for the overwhelming support we have gotten from all sides. Thank you! Thank You! Thank You! We decided to hop into the studio before we left for KFF, and the CD that we left with? Well, we decided to name it "the jasons". Clever, right? The album is a collection of solos, duets, and a few special treats like a SNEAK PEAK from my upcoming (think you can handle it?), almost completed (my god, I have goose-bumps!) new, full-band album, titled (It's almost too much!) "Dream Without Sleep"! We want for everyone to have a copy of "the jasons", so come out to any show; be it BDM, Freed - solo, or Yours truly- solo, and we'll have several copies available. It makes a great gift, and it's one size-fits-all. We know how hard it can be to shop for the ones you love. No reason to thank us, we're just doing our job. Even if you're already current on all that I've written so far, I still might have an ace up my sleeve. You see, while I am totally in love with Austin, you know, in an "Under the Bridge Downtown" - sort of way (sans the blood shed), I will be spending the summer in the hill country. I have decided to invest some time playing in that region, & working on a project that I can barely contain myself over. It's a project of such monumental proportions, of such gargantuan scope that it could change everything! EVERYTHING, I say! It's really too bad that it's a tad too early in the project to go into all of the details, because I think you would really be able to sink you're teeth into just how big of deal this is. Ah well, soon enough. Until then I want everyone in Austin to know that they have not been abandoned. I will still be easily reached and happy to hear from you. I will still come in town as often as possible. Trophy's will still go down EVERY TUESDAY. Each Friday the Mr.Freed experience will be rocking at the Alligator Grill. The concerned reader should know that I will still have Austin as my location on myspace.I will not however be there very often. Hey, I'm a rolling stone, what did you expect? So, I think that's enough for now. Thanks for stopping by, sign up on the email list, and come out to a show! Who loves ya? Weems does. |

| Back in the Saddle Again! | 01/04/2007 |
| Hey Everyone, Happy New Year! I hope everyone made it through the holidays with an abundance of peace and a minimal amount of trauma. We have a new page in front of us right now in the form of a new year, and things are already off to a roaring start for me. For example I am pleased to announce that I am once again full time with music. Many of you know that I had taken some much needed time off from touring, and the turn of the calendar brings me back into the world of "All Music, All the Time". I couldn't be happier with the change, and would welcome any feed back from you. Let me know if there's a venue, or a festival that you'd like to see me play, and I'll do my best to swing by with some tunes. It's really that easy. I also will be adding a lot more content to this website, so I encourage you to keep checking in to see what's new. Thanks to all of you that make this possible, and know that I'll be out there keeping the dream alive! | |

Man, do I ever love this new website layout. It's going to be ever so helpful when I want to get the word out about a show, appearance, or new song that I want everyone to know about. Please take a moment to check out all of the fun stuff on here. Sign up for my email list even if you think you're already on it! Check out the Street Team area too, it's where you can get a little more involved with my music!
A big Thanks goes to Jason Bennett from magnetic Octopus for designing this site, and keeping it going. If you're looking to expand your presence on the web then do yourself a favor and get it done right the first time at Magnetic Octopus!
